A day tour to Aitutaki takes the #1 spot on our list of must-do activities, when visiting the Cook Islands. The tour includes your pick-up & transfers to & from the airport, round-trip airfares to Aitutaki, lagoon cruise aboard a catamaran & a relaxing barbeque lunch of freshly caught fish. The tour can be booked directly with Air Rarotonga or we can give you a hand with booking this, during your stay with us.
One of the biggest attractions of Rarotonga is the Saturday Market, and we are located a short ten-minute drive away. The market is an unmissable experience and a great place to try some local food, buy fresh fruits and vegetables and pick up some souvenirs or gifts. Also nearby is a charming local minigolf course, one of few things on the island that opens on a Sunday. A bus stop is located just across the road where you can catch one of the island busses or be picked up for a Lagoon Cruise or Mountain Safari tour and other activities that offer a pickup service.
The main attraction of the island is its stunning beaches of course. From the beautiful Cooks Oasis beach you can take a leisurely walk to Black Rock, or relax on our famous swing bench and enjoy some whale spotting or admire the sunset. Our area is home to many species of tropical fish and marine life and is a perfect spot for snorkeling.
A highlight for hikers is the beautiful Raemaru Track, with the starting point located in our village. From the top, you will enjoy panoramic views of surrounding mountain peaks and across the lagoon to the vast Pacific ocean. The starting point for the popular Cross Island Track and The Needle, is also just 10 minutes' drive away.
